Important Dates

-On August 25, 2021, Mrs. Nancy Ayers was appointed by the Circuit Court Judge to fill the unexpired term of Electoral Board Member, Andrea Weber who moved out of the locality and was unable to continue to serve.

-The Logic & Accuracy Testing on the voting equipment being used in the 2021 General and Special Elections took place on Wednesday, September 1st at 9 :30 AM.

-ELECTION DAY:  November 2, 2021 from 6 AM to 7 PM

- The Powhatan County Electoral Board met at 9 AM on Wednesday, November 3rd in the Village Building to begin the Canvas of Votes for the 2021 General & Special Election.

- The Powhatan County Electoral Board met at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 5th in the Village Building to Canvas and finalize the official votes cast in the November 2, 2021 General & Special Election.

-Election Official Trainings took place on Tuesday, Oct. 26th, Wednesday, Oct. 27th, Thursday, Oct. 28th at 1:30 PM and 7:00 PM in the Village Building Auditorium.

-The Electoral Board, staff and local representatives performed the Logic & Accuracy Testing of Powhatan's voting equipment for the 2022 February Special Election for School Board, District 4 on Tuesday, December 28th at 11:00 AM.

-Early Voting for the Feb 15, 2022 Special Election began on Thursday, December 30, 2021 and will continue through until Saturday, February 12, 2022.

-The Electoral Board met on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10:30 AM in the Village Building Lower Level conference room.  This meeting was open to the public.

-Saturday, February 5th through Saturday, February 12th:  The Powhatan County Office of Elections was OPEN for Early Voting.

-TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 15th was ELECTION DAY for all voters registered in District 4.

-Wednesday, February 16th at 10:30 AM:  Canvas of Votes 

-Friday, February 18th at 12:00 PM: FINAL Canvas of Votes

-The Electoral Board met on June 6, 2022 at 10 AM to discuss the 2022 Annual Evaluation for the Director of Elections.

-The Logic & Accuracy Testing on the voting equipment being used in the 2022 General and Special Election took place on Wednesday, September 15th at 9 AM.

-Early Voting for the 2022 General & Special Election began on Friday, September 23, 2022 and will continue through until Saturday, November 5, 2022.

-The Electoral Board met on Wednesday, October 19th at 2 PM to discuss potential protocol for provisional ballots due to redistricting changes. 

-Election Official Training for the November 8th Election took place on Tuesday, October 25th at 1:30 PM and 7:00 PM in the Village Building Auditorium.

-ELECTION DAY: Tuesday, November 8th, Polls were open from 6 AM to 7 PM at all 12 precincts throughout Powhatan.

-CANVAS of RESULTS: Wednesday, November 9th at 10 AM at the Office of Elections, 3910 Old Buckingham Road, lower level conference room.

-FINAL CANVAS OF RESULTS:  Monday, November 14th at 12/noon at the Office of Elections, 3910 Old Buckingham Road, lower level conference room.

-The Powhatan County Electoral Board met on December 8th at 10:30 AM to approve meeting minutes and discuss office business.

-On December 15, 2022, Bill Melton was sworn in as the second republican member of the Powhatan County Electoral Board, for the term of office commencing on January 1, 2023 and expiring on December 31, 2025.  

-The Electoral Board met on March 7, 2023 at 10:30 AM in the Early Voting Building to appoint Officers of Election for 2023. 

-The Electoral Board will be met on May 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the Early Voting Building. 

-The Electoral Board will be meeting in closed session on June 5th and again on June 14th to prepare & discuss the Director of Elections' FY'23 Annual Evaluation.
