The Powhatan County Office of Elections & Voter Registration's regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.  The office will be closed on all state & federal holidays and for severe weather related county closures.

April 21, 2026 - Special Election

Proposed Constitutional Amendment - Statewide


Question: Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring 

Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?

Deadlines:

Register to vote or update your current Voter Registration by 4/14/2026

Apply for ballot to be mailed to you up until 4/10/2026. Application must be received by 5 PM.

EARLY VOTING:

Monday - Friday, March 6, 2026 through April 17th at our Early Voting Drive-Thru.  Also open Saturday, April 11th and Saturday, April 18th 2026.

Any ballot that was formally requested via an application to be mailed to the voter can be marked and then returned to our office either by a postal service or returned in-person, 24-7, via use of the ballot drop box pictured below.  Only ballots delivered by the voter himself/herself can be hand delivered in-person to the Registrar in the Office of Elections.

The Powhatan County Office of Elections is located in the Village Building, Lower Level (3910 Old Buckingham Road, Suite E).

The office is most easily accessible from the left side door as facing. There is an ADA accessible ramp in the front of the building.
