   The Board of Supervisors is currently working on updates to the Powhatan County Long-Range Comprehensive Plan. These updates include changes to the Future Land Use Map. This map designates areas where growth should occur and specifies what uses may be appropriate in different parts of Powhatan County. Recommended land uses shown on this map are considered when evaluating development proposals, such as rezoning requests. Accompanying text and photos in Chapter 8: Land Use and Community Character provide additional detail regarding the recommended appearance and form of new development within different areas.
