From the Desk of the Parks & Recreation Director:
Dear Powhatan friends and neighbors,
While this morning's snowfall brought us a beautiful winter scene, it also made it unsafe for us to gather in person for one of our favorite traditions, the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Even though we can't be together in Village Park, we didn't want the magic, joy, and sense of togetherness to be lost.
So, we’re bringing the celebration to you!
Please join us right here for our Virtual Tree Lighting Ceremony, where we can still share a moment of light, gratitude, and community spirit from the warmth and safety of our homes. Thank you for your understanding, your flexibility, and the heart you bring to Powhatan each day.
Play safe and let the season’s glow brighten your evening.

- Powhatan County Board of Supervisors and Chair Bill Donati, for championing community engagement and seasonal festivities.
- Monacan Services, for creating the pinecone birdseed ornaments to feed our feathered friends.
- Harris Cole, for spreading cheer as our delightful Gingerbread Man.
- The Parks & Recreation and Public Works Teams, for decorating the park and beautifully bringing our holiday vision to life.
