Pickleball Open Gym

  • Bring a paddle and enjoy a few games of pickleball with friends new or old. Three (3) indoor courts are available for playing. Balls available on site. Outdoor courts are open too! First come, first serve.
    • FREE/ $10 annual fee for non-residents

  • Learn the skills to feel confident jumping into drop-in play with Kenny! Program will lead into Open Gym Pickleball hours on Wednesdays in April. Call 804-598-5275 or stop by to sign up. Limited spots available!

  • Hey Parents, check out an activity for your busy, little ones!  Fridays from 10am-11:30am, we're hosting an indoor playground at the PLC gym. Free, drop-in program for residents. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Karate (Ages 7+)

  • Learn the art of Karate with our experienced instructor Scott Saslaw! Karate is a great way to learn movement skills, discipline, and self-confidence. The program will consist of 4 beginner Karate classes. Call 804-598-5275 or stop by the Rec Center to register. Payment is accepted as cash or check only.

Adult Volleyball (1)
  • Pickleball 102 Skill Series (18+)

  • $60/ $70 NR (Pre-registration required!)
  • This 3-part series aims to get players comfortable enough to play in Beginner/Advanced Beginner Leagues and Open Play as soon as possible. This is not a beginner’s course and participants should have basic competency of the sport prior to registration. This is an extension of Pickleball Beginner 101 which participants must have taken and passed before registering for Pickleball 102 Supervised Practice Drill and Play. An exemption can be made if the participant has been playing pickleball for at least six consecutive months and has the instructor’s permission before they register for the course. The first class will be devoted totally to “The Short Game,” the second class to “The Full Court Game,” and the third class to “Strategy for Winning Each Point. Space limited, register in advance.

  • $50 Resident | $60 Non-Resident
  • Rising 3rd-8th grade girls.
  • This camp is led by Brian A Griffen and basketball players from the 2022-23 Powhatan Middle School Lady Indians basketball team! Campers will learn the rules and fundamentals of basketball, along with the character qualities necessary to becoming a successful girls basketball player.
