What is a mobile hotspot?
A mobile hotspot is a small device that can provide wireless internet access to Wi-Fi capable devices such as tablets and laptops. Each mobile hotspot offers unlimited data, and can provide Internet access in any location covered by T-Mobile's cellular service.
Who can check out a mobile hotspot from PCPL?
Any adult (aged 18 or older) PCPL cardholders with a library card in good standing (i.e. not blocked due to unpaid fines or lost materials) can check out a mobile hotspot. Check outs are limited to one per household.
How do I check out a mobile hotspot?
Hotspots can be checked out from the circulation desk. If you wish to place a hotspot on hold, please fill out this form and library staff will contact you when your hotspot is available to pick up.
How do I connect to the Wi-Fi on my mobile hotspot?
Power on your mobile hotspot by pressing the silver on/off button for three seconds until all of the icons light up.
On your Wi-Fi enabled device, search for available Wi-Fi networks and select the network PCPL Hotspot.
- From a Windows computer: Left-click Wireless Network Connection on the task bar to view available networks. Choose PCPL Hotspot from the list of available networks.
- From a Mac computer: Select System Preferences>Network. Choose PCPL Hotspot from the list of available networks.
- From an iOS device: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Choose PCPL Hotspot from the list of available networks.
- From an Android device: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Choose PCPL Hotspot from the list of available networks.
Enter the password provided with the hotspot and click OK.
